ANGELES CITY–The city government and its private partner the Cabanatuan EACA Agroventures Inc. will build here a modern slaughterhouse costing P80 million following the recent signing of memorandum of agreement on the project.

Angeles chief adviser IC Calaguas said said the construction of the new slaughterhouse will be done under the Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) scheme. The project will be equipped with new technology for slaughterhouses.

Calaguas said EACA Agroventures would lease the property from the city government for 25 years under the MOA. He said the EACA would shoulder the construction cost, including the operation and maintenance of the slaughterhouse.

After 25 years, Calaguas said the EACA will be turned over to the city government.

Lito Corpuz, general manager of the Angeles City Slaughterhouse, said the new slaughterhouse would be accredited with the National Meat Services Inspection.
