DMCI Homes representatives turned over bond papers, face masks, bottles of alcohol and boxes of Vitamin C to school officials through the Brigada Eskwela program by the Department of Education.

“As one of the neighboring schools of our Sonora Garden Residences project, we wanted to help Pamplona Elementary School Unit 1 prepare for the coming school opening by providing additional school supplies and health care products to protect them from the COVID-19 virus,” DMCI Homes corporate communications manager Carlo Gahol said.

Gahol said the initiative is part of the company’s ‘Kaakbay sa Edukasyon’  corporate social responsibility that seeks to support education in communities where the company operates.

As classes start on Sept. 13, the school continues to prepare for 1,000 enrollees for the new academic year amid the pandemic.

“Our school is really blessed to have a partner company like DMCI Homes which always supports our activities especially our Brigada Eskwela program,” Pamplona Elementary School Unit 1 Brigada Eskwela chairperson Jenelyn Nacario said.

DepEd recently released guidelines for the 2021 Brigada Eskwela program to ensure quality education through partnership engagements.

“The Brigada Eskwela Program shall be implemented from Aug. 3 to Sept. 30, 2021 with focus on collaboration and strengthening partnership engagements that complement DepEd efforts to implement the Basic Education Learning Continuity Plan and to ensure the delivery of quality basic education amidst the COVID-19 pandemic,” DepEd said in a Facebook post.
