Pasay Harbor City Corp., the private proponent of the 265-hectare, P72-billion land reclamation project of Pasay City in the Manila Bay, dropped its Chinese partner and replaced it with the world-renowned Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V.

Pasay City Harbor Corp., a joint venture of Udenna Development Corp. of businessman Dennis Uy, Ulticon Builders Inc. of construction entrepreneur Charlie Gonzalez and a foreign partner, is embarking on an ambitious multi-billion peso land reclamation project to create a new urban center near the back of the Mall of Asia area within the next five or six years.

Pasay Harbor, in a spate of official communications seeking clearances and permits from state agencies that deal with land reclamation projects, identified state-owned China Harbor Engineering Company as its foreign partner, the job of which is to provide the technology in the land reclamation project.

Royal Boskalis is an international Dutch dredging and heavy lift company that specializes in maritime infrastructure technology. The Dutch firm, which has presence in 75 countries worldwide employing more about 10,000 workers and 650 vessels, possesses the specialized technology in land reclamation projects.
