Lucia “Letty” Gonzales Tan, mother of LT Group president Michael Tan, passed away on Aug. 31. She was 77.
The Tan family in a statement requested family and friends to offer prayers for Mrs. Gonzales Tan who lost her battle to a lingering illness.
Lucia is survived by 86-year-old beer, tobacco and airline tycoon Lucio Tan and and children Michael and Angeline, Sharon and Edgar, John and Nancy, Cherry and Alfred, Timmy and Christine and her beloved grandchildren.
Her family described Lucia as jolly and doting mother and grandmother. She was known to be “warm, friendly and affable spouse” of Mr. Tan.
“Our mom will always be remembered for her kindness and big heart. We will miss her. May the Lord God bless her soul, as she joins Him in heaven,” her children said.
Wake will be at Chapel 3 of Heritage Park Memorial Chapel in Taguig City from 10am to 6 p.m. on Sept. 2 to 7. Interment will be on Sept. 8 at 11 a.m. also at Chapel 3 of Heritage Park.
Michael Tan, the firstborn of Lucia, is now the president and chief operating officer of LT Group, the holding company of Lucio Tan.
Last year, Lucio “Bong” Tan Jr., a son of Lucio with wife Carmen, died of brain aneurysm.
