SMC reopens Alabang southbound entry early

San Miguel Corp. said Monday it reopened to motorists the Alabang southbound entry of South Luzon Expressway eight days ahead of schedule.

The toll plaza entry was closed on May 28 to enable SLEX contractors to undertake bored piling works for the resumed construction of the Skyway Extension Project.

SMC, through contractor EEI, used two rigs instead of just one to hasten the completion of the bored piling works while maintaining quality. Returning workers also had more leeway to move on the construction site as Metro Manila was still in quarantine.

“We want to assure the motoring public and government that the Skyway Extension Project will be finished at the soonest possible time,” said Ramon Ang, president and chief operating officer of San Miguel.

“This is to demonstrate our commitment to continue to improve our facilities and services—no matter what the situation or circumstance is,” Ang said.
