The FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist on Friday launched a livelihood program for Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) in Pangasinan, offering them free franchises for IFern products.
The program, launched at the partylist’s headquarters here, aims to empower BHWs by providing them with an alternative source of income.
“This is a free franchise. You don’t have to pay anything,” said Brian Poe Llamanzares, chairman of the FPJ Panday Bayanihan Partylist, during the launch. “To show you that this is genuine, I am making you sign a deed of donation.”
The launch included the signing of a memorandum of agreement between Llamanzares, IFern, and the Pangasinan BHW Federation.
“We are really thankful to Sir Brian for this opportunity,” said Alegria Almahano, president of the BHW Federation of Pangasinan.
Llamanzares said the program recognizes the crucial role of BHWs, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The BHWs are close to my heart because during the pandemic, our organization, the FPJ Panday Bayanihan, helped people together with the Barangay Health Workers,” he said.
The event was attended by key officials, including IFern Presidential Director Marvin Casiño and Pangasinan Coordinator of FPJ Panday Bayanihan Councilor Lovely Lian Maramba.
The partylist said the program marks its first major step in strengthening its presence in Pangasinan.
