Driven by the desire to support women and the causes that matter most to them, globally renowned beauty brand Avon Philippines ushers in the #TalagangPilipina era, an initiative that celebrates the beauty Filipino women and brings together a diverse group of Filipinas united by common values and self-worth.
From Ms. Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach to transwoman advocate Coleen Abarrientos, the campaign celebrates what it means to be a modern Filipina woman. The #TalagangPilipina campaign is part of Avon Philippines’ commitment to championing Filipina women who defy expectations and dare to break the outdated traditions forced on them for far too long.
Although Filipina women have access to more opportunities than before, they are still surrounded by stereotypes and the society’s traditional expectations that challenge them career-wise and financially.
A new research from beauty brand Avon reveals that Filipina women are highly affected by barriers to entrepreneurship. Over half or 52 percent of the women surveyed admitted to the lack of confidence being a barrier to starting a business, while a staggering 79 percent believe inadequate financial resources are a setback to becoming entrepreneurs.
Avon sustains a legacy of championing women for over 135 years and a business model which allows women greater choice and freedom to earn money. The brand continues to reward every Avon sales ambassador 20 percent of sales, its way of supporting female entrepreneurs.
