The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and the Bases Conversion and Development Authority signed on Wednesday a contract containing the terms of the BSP’s lease of the land on which a new complex in New Clark City in Capas, Tarlac will rise.

BSP Governor Benjamin Diokno and BCDA president and chief executive Vince Dizon signed the contract virtually.

The contract covers the lease of a parcel of land spanning 313,171 square meters, conveniently located along the New Clark City-SCTEX access road. The terms of the lease will be for 50 years starting from the date of signing, with the option to renew for another 25 years, upon mutual agreement of both parties.

Diokno said the new facility would strengthen the strategic foothold of the BSP in the country’s key growth corridors, in pursuit of its mandates in the areas of currency and securities production and distribution.

“Today the BSP’s vision for this facility takes one significant step closer to reality,” Diokno said in a statement.
