GCash teamed up with Maybank, one of the largest banks in Southeast Asia, to launch EzySave+, a digital savings account that offers accessible, safe and convenient digital banking experience for Filipinos via GSave.

With the partnership, EzySave+ depositors can enjoy an additional 5-percent interest per annum cash credit on their average daily balance during the first 90 days of opening an  account. Maybank is the third bank to be available on GSave to date.

“With the launch of EzySave+ by Maybank via the GSave feature on the GCash app, users gain access to more solutions on now to conveniently access their money and savings, enjoy interest earnings, collect financial rewards and perform cashless payments and fund transfers to help them jumpstart their digital banking journey. This is also a big step towards our goal of helping the country achieve its financial inclusion goals,” said Martha Sazon, president and chief executive of GCash.

“With our partnership with GCash, we are hoping to encourage Filipinos to start saving with security and convenience. In line with our role as a financial institution, we want to ensure a seamless online banking experience for our customers with the launch of EzySave+,” said Maybank Philippines’ president and chief executive Abigail Del Rosario.

EzySave+ comes with a free EMV-enabled Maybank Visa Debit Card on the users initial minimum deposit amount of P1,000, which will be delivered for free.

Customers can use this debit card to withdraw cash or pay for their purchases and transactions. What’s more, EzySave+ requires no initial deposit, no maintaining balance, and offers interest for as low as P0.01, with a 0.35-percent base rate, as well as free withdrawals from over 22,000 BancNet ATMs nationwide.

To help Filipinos protect and secure their family, EzySave+ also offers free personal accident insurance of up to P1 million, with a minimum ADB of only P50,000.

Opening an EzySave+ account on GCash is easy – just open your GCash app and tap GSave in the dashboard. Click “EzySave+” and be sure to read and agree to the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Afterwards, read the product details then tap “Open EzySave+ Account. Submit a photo of three specimen signatures then proceed to fill out additional customer details. Don’t forget to read and agree on Maybank terms and conditions, and attestations before tapping “Continue” to generate the Transaction Authorization Code which the customer will then receive and input on the typebar.

Finally, you will be prompted with the account creation confirmation page. Tap “Okay” to finish the application process, and you’re good to go.

Transferring money from GCash wallet to your EzySave+ account is quick and easy too. Simply tap the GSave feature on the GCash app and click “EzySave+”. Select “Deposit”, input your desired amount, and Click “Pay (Amount)”.

To transfer money from your EzySave+ account to your GCash wallet, access the EzySave+ on GSave on the GCash app, click “Withdraw” and input your desired amount then tap “Next” to proceed. Keep in mind that the maximum withdrawal per day is P50,000 and will require a One-Time Pin and personal MPIN which should not be given to anyone.

Confirm the transaction confirmation screen and wait for the SMS confirmation for your withdrawal.

With more and more Filipinos embracing digital financial solutions, GCash continues to innovate and partner with institutions to help Filipinos have safer and more convenient ways to protect, secure, and build a better future for themselves and their family, in pursuit of its goal of fast-tracking a more inclusive and diverse financial ecosystem in the country.
