Globe Telecom Inc. on Friday assured customers that services will remain uninterrupted despite the government’s declaration of a state of national energy emergency.
The Ayala-led telecommunications giant said it has activated its business continuity plan to safeguard network stability. These measures are designed to ensure that mobile and internet operations remain resilient amid growing concerns over fuel supply and national energy availability.
As part of the plan, Globe will expand work-from-home arrangements for all employees, excluding the critical workforce in network and IT operations, retail stores, sales channels, customer service and network security.
To further conserve energy, the company has introduced efficiency measures such as tightening travel policies, encouraging carpooling and launching incentives for electric vehicle use.
Globe is also prioritizing the fuel and energy requirements of its network to ensure communication services continue without disruption. Working with partners, the company is securing fuel for generators across all cell sites to handle potential commercial power interruptions.
Additionally, battery runtime management protocols have been implemented to maintain connectivity even if the power grid and generator support are compromised.
Globe is strengthening its energy management through efficiency measures and increased use of renewable energy. Currently, approximately 30 percent of Globe’s network runs on renewable energy. The company also continues to deploy energy-efficient technologies, including artificial intelligence solutions that help optimize consumption across its sites.
Globe said it remains focused on maintaining reliable service while strengthening its operational resilience and energy strategy in response to volatile geopolitical and energy conditions.
