The Land Bank of the Philippines (LandBank) reinforced its leadership in sustainable finance after partnering with the Financial Executives Institute of the Philippines Research and Development Foundation Inc. (FINEX Foundation) to launch the FINEX Sustainability Handbook on Feb. 23, 2026, at LandBank Plaza.
The handbook serves as a practical guide for integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) principles into operations and financial decision-making. LANDBANK will distribute digital copies across its network of farmers, cooperatives, and marginalized communities to bring sustainability practices to the grassroots level.
LandBank president and chief executive Lynette V. Ortiz led the launch alongside LandBank director and 2025 FINEX Environment Committee chair Gaudencio S. Hernandez Jr., 2025 FINEX Foundation chair Augusto D. Bengzon, and 2026 FINEX Foundation chair Edmund Alan A. Qua Hiansen.
“Across the country, many farmers, cooperatives, and rural communities are already confronting climate risk. They need tools that turn awareness into action. This handbook provides clear, practical guidance grounded in real-world experience, making sustainability accessible and actionable,” she said.
Developed by the FINEX Foundation through its Environment Committee, the handbook features articles on climate change, natural farming, environmental awareness and good governance, aligned with national climate-resilience goals.
Hernandez said the launch reflects a shared responsibility to advance sustainability through collaboration across sectors. Qua Hiansen likewise described sustainability as a “continuous journey” requiring cooperation among government, business, financial institutions and civil society.
