Cebu Pacific passengers increased 6.2% in January

Cebu Pacific said Friday it flew more than 2.7 million passengers in January 2026, up 6.2 percent from the same month last year.

The budget carrier attributed the growth to a 9.9-percent expansion in total seat capacity. The airline’s system seat load factor (SLF), a measure of how many seats are filled, reached 83.6 percent compared with 86.5 percent last year.

Domestic passenger numbers grew 5.1 percent year-on-year on 7.9-percent higher seat availability, resulting in a domestic SLF of 84.7 percent. International traffic climbed 9.4 percent, while seat capacity for those routes rose 15.5 percent, bringing the international SLF to 80.7 percent.

“Cebu Pacific’s strong January 2026 performance demonstrates the resilience of underlying travel demand and the effectiveness of our capacity deployment strategy,” Cebu Pacific president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao said.

Lao said the volume increase across both segments shows market confidence in the carrier’s network. “As we continue to optimize fleet utilization and expand seat supply, we remain confident in our ability to capture growth opportunities, enhance operational efficiency and deliver sustained value to our customers and stakeholders,” he said.
