Manila Water adds 19,000 connections, expands East Zone network

Manila Water Co. expanded its service network in 2025, installing 19,421 new service connections through November and bringing its total reach to more than 1.2 million customers since 1997.

To support the growth, the utility expanded its water supply network by 92.59 kilometers during the 11-month period. This brings the company’s total pipeline length to 5,656.23 kilometers.

Manila Water stated that the expanded infrastructure, coupled with non-revenue water (NRW) levels averaging below 15 percent, allows the utility to deliver consistent, 24-hour service. NRW refers to water lost through system leaks and illegal connections; maintaining low levels is considered critical for supply reliability and operational efficiency.

“Maintaining low non-revenue water levels and investing in a strong pipeline network enable continuous water availability while supporting the growing needs of our communities,” said Jeric Sevilla, Manila Water corporate communications director.

The company currently serves more than 7.8 million customers in the East Zone, covering parts of Metro Manila and Rizal province.

Manila Water said it plans to continue investing in infrastructure and innovative technologies to further improve operational efficiency and meet long-term water requirements.
