Jollibee Foods Corp. has inaugurated its largest commissary in the Visayas and Mindanao regions, a multi-brand facility in Danao City designed to bolster manufacturing and logistics for its expanding Philippine operations.
The Danao commissary marks the fourth Jollibee Group facility in Cebu and serves as the company’s first integrated, multi-brand commissary in the country.
The site will supply key ingredients for brands including Jollibee, Chowking, Mang Inasal, Greenwich, Red Ribbon and Burger King across provinces such as Cebu, Iloilo, Bacolod, Zamboanga, Cagayan de Oro and Davao, along with select areas in Luzon.
Jollibee Group Philippines chief executive and Jollibee brand global head Joseph Tanbuntiong said building on the strong momentum in Visayas and Mindanao is critical to the company’s domestic business and global aspirations.
The fast-food chain noted that the investment comes amid accelerating economic growth in the region, driven by tourism, outsourcing hubs, agribusiness exports and manufacturing.
The facility is expected to generate up to 800 jobs at full capacity, with more than 60 percent of the current workforce recruited from Danao City.
The expansion follows a period of significant capital investment for the group as it strengthens its supply chain to meet rising consumer demand.
Sustainability features were integrated into the plant’s design, which operates on 99 percent renewable electricity from geothermal sources. The site also utilizes solar panels, rainwater-harvesting systems, energy-efficient equipment and wastewater treatment facilities to reduce its environmental footprint.
Department of Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque said during the inauguration that the investment represents increased job security and growth for local industries.
She said the opening of such facilities encourages further investment in the Philippines while strengthening the national supply chain.
