Technology, AI to drive PH job market

Digital transformation and artificial intelligence will drive hiring for technology roles in 2026 as employers seek upskilled talent for AI-enabled processes, according to the Jobstreet by SEEK “In-Demand Jobs Wrapped report.

Hiring trends from 2025 are expected to persist into the new year, with administration and office support roles continuing to anchor employer demand.

Engineering positions followed at 10.2 percent of total demand, while education and training roles made up 9.2 percent. Call center and customer service jobs accounted for 9.1 percent, and information and communication technology roles comprised 6.6 percent.

Steady hiring activity was also recorded in other sectors, including accounting at 5.8 percent and sales at 5.0 percent. Manufacturing, transport and logistics roles represented 4.7 percent of demand, followed by retail and consumer products at 2.7 percent and marketing and communications at 2.6 percent.

On the supply side, Jobstreet by SEEK noted that candidates from call center and customer service roles were the most active jobseekers, accounting for 12.3 percent of total applicants. This was followed by candidates from hospitality and tourism at 9.8 percent, manufacturing, transport and logistics at 8.0 percent, ICT at 7.5 percent and engineering at 6.5 percent.
