Converge pivots to full-scale tech firm as enterprise revenue jumps 16%

Converge Information and Communications Technology Solutions Inc. is accelerating its transition from a fiber internet provider to a full-scale technology company, driven by a growing footprint in the enterprise market.

With the evolving needs of large companies and various industries, Converge is eyeing the business-to-business (B2B) segment with innovative solutions, marked by the launch of the Converge Global Business headquarters in November.

Continuing its focus on the B2B sector, Converge recently onboarded Dindo Marzan to head its SME Business Group. Marzan has more than 20 years of experience developing and commercializing tech platforms in emerging and developed markets.

Prior to joining Converge, Marzan served as chief operating officer of BayaniPay, scaling the Los Angeles-based fintech startup to $200 million in gross transaction value and leading its North American expansion.

As head of Converge SME Solutions, he will drive revenue growth, build strategic partnerships and elevate market position. He previously held leadership roles at True Digital Group, Voyager Innovations, ABS-CBN, Globe Telecom and Mozcom.

The company also tapped Grace Jarin-Castillo, a pioneer in building corporate data businesses with offerings such as data centers, managed services, cloud, mobility solutions and other value-added services. Jarin-Castillo has more than 10 years of experience in solution-selling to top enterprises and more than 35 years of overall experience in business development.

Converge earlier reported a net income of P8.9 billion for the January-to-September period, up 8.4 percent from P8.2 billion during the same period last year. Consolidated revenues rose 10.1 percent in the first nine months to P33 billion from P29.9 billion year-on-year.

The residential business grew 9.1 percent to P27.7 billion during the nine-month period, with a total of 2,926,593 subscribers. This includes 2,416,561 postpaid and 510,032 prepaid subscribers.

Enterprise revenue also grew by 16.2 percent to P5.2 billion from P4.5 billion last year. The SME and wholesale subsegments recorded strong double-digit revenue growth due to a larger customer base.
