The renewable energy will be sourced from the Bacon-Manito geothermal power plant in Bicol, which is operated by First Gen subsidiary Energy Development Corp.

Dyna Drug president Jacinto Dy said the transition to sustainable solutions is part of a vision to minimize the company’s environmental footprint.

The partnership aligns with the values of the firm, which was founded in 1915 and now serves as a primary distributor for more than 3,000 retail drugstores across the Philippines.

First Gen chief customer engagement officer Carlo Vega said geothermal power is uniquely suited for the sensitive nature of pharmaceutical products because it provides a stable, 24/7 supply of renewable energy.

Vega noted that First Gen is committed to supporting Dyna Drug as it continues its decarbonization efforts.

First Gen is the leading producer of renewable energy in the Philippines, maintaining a combined capacity of more than 1,700 megawatts.

Its portfolio includes hydro, wind, solar and geothermal facilities located throughout the country.
