Armscor Global Defense Inc. announced the passing of its president and chief executive, Martin Tuason, at the age of 51.
Tuason’s journey with Armscor began in his teenage years, and he was elected president and CEO of the company in 2012.
The company said deputy CEO Gina Marie Angangco would assume leadership, working with the executive management yeam to ensure operational continuity and maintain the strategic direction set by Tuason.
“We extend our heartfelt sympathies to the Tuason family during this difficult time. We respectfully ask for everyone’s support and understanding as we honor Martin’s memory and uphold the values he championed throughout his exemplary leadership,” Armscor said in a statement.
Under Tuason’s guidance, the company reached significant milestones, elevating it into a world-class institution and strengthening its standing in the commercial and defense industries.
A deeply patriotic leader, Tuason was a staunch supporter of the Self-Reliant Defense Posture (SRDP) program.
He advocated for the passage of the SRDP Revitalization Act (Republic Act No. 12024), which is aimed at strengthening the country’s defense industry, lessening dependence on foreign suppliers and empowering local companies.
Beyond his corporate responsibilities, Tuason was dedicated to philanthropic work. Through Armscor’s Bigay Awa at Tanglaw sa mga Anghel (BATA) Foundation in Marikina, he provided shelter, education and support for underprivileged girls. He was known for his generosity, particularly toward employees and for his genuine care for the communities the company serves.
