PEZA, Pag-IBIG team up to provide housing for ecozone workers

The Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) and the Pag-IBIG Fund have teamed up to provide affordable, accessible and sustainable housing opportunities for PEZA employees and the broader ecozone workforce, the agencies said Thursday.

PEZA director-general Tereso Panga and Pag-IBIG Fund chief executive Marilene Acosta signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) on Oct. 21, 2025, to roll out programs that will help employees acquire homes through Pag-IBIG financing, access acquired assets and developer inventories, and join group or bulk sale initiatives for more affordable housing.

Acosta said the agency would make available its full suite of programs, including end-user financing, home improvement loans, rental housing, the Expanded 4PH Program and the Acquired Assets Program. Pag-IBIG will also enter into a collection servicing agreement with PEZA to simplify repayment processes.

Panga said the agency would explore more housing opportunities alongside the Pag-IBIG Fund, identify viable sites, and work toward developing PEZA housing projects that are affordable, accessible, and sustainable.

With over 600 PEZA personnel and some 1.8 million Filipinos employed in PEZA-registered ecozones, the agency is studying the expansion of the housing initiative to benefit ecozone workers nationwide.

“PEZA commits to study the expansion of these benefits and to continuously promote Pag-IBIG programs among registered business enterprises to maximize reach and impact,” Panga said.

The partnership is expected to serve as a model for institutional collaboration that delivers direct socio-economic impact to Filipino workers across the country.
