Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC), in partnership with its Cebu dealer Iconic Dealership, Inc. (IDI), delivered essential relief supplies to 200 families in Barangay Poblacion, San Remigio, one of the areas hardest hit by the recent 6.9-magnitude earthquake in northern Cebu.
The move extended IPC’s role as a responsible partner providing quality vehicles.
Led by IPC department head for dealer sales Mario Ojales and Isuzu Mandaue branch head Eufemio Ybanez, the team transported food packs and bottled water from Mandaue City to San Remigio, which has been placed under a state of calamity.
“At Isuzu, we believe being a responsible partner means stepping up when communities need us most,” Ojales said. “We are committed not only to powering businesses but also to empowering lives, especially in times of crisis.”
Isuzu’s Mobile Medic trucks, typically used for on-site vehicle assistance, were repurposed to deliver the relief goods to affected residents.
Ybañez said the experience made them proud to be part of an organization that values compassion and action.
The Isuzu team was warmly received by Barangay Captain Rey Tamboboy and other local officials, who assisted in distributing the goods.
Isuzu vowed to further commit to corporate social responsibility, noting that its mission extends to driving positive change in communities.
The Sept. 30 quake affected over 170,000 individuals and claimed more than 70 lives, according to the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office and the NDRRMC.
