Philippine Airlines (PAL) said it will expand its domestic flight network starting October 2025 to meet a surge in travel demand, with a focus on tourist and key provincial destinations.
The flag carrier said it would increase its flight frequency by 7 percent for the upcoming peak travel season, operating 1,154 flights a week between Manila and destinations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. This will add more than 14,000 seats to its weekly capacity from Manila.
“By expanding our domestic flight network…we are able to efficiently cater to the needs of travelers,” PAL Express president Rabbi Vincent Ang said in a statement.
“These additional flights…reflect PAL’s commitment to increase connectivity across the archipelago, boost the local economy, and help drive tourism,” said Ang.
Starting October, PAL will add flights on several of its busiest domestic routes. Services between Manila and Butuan will increase to 21 flights weekly from 14, while Manila–Cagayan de Oro will grow to 42 weekly flights from 35.
Other routes with increased frequency include Manila–Cotabato: 14 weekly flights, up from 11; Manila–Legazpi (Daraga): 28 weekly flights, up from 21; Manila–Dumaguete: 18 weekly flights, up from 14; Manila–Tacloban: 25 weekly flights, up from 21.
PAL said it would also offer daily flights between Manila and Siargao, with additional options available via connecting flights. Passengers can fly from Manila to Cebu and then take a connecting flight to Siargao, with the Cebu–Siargao route operating 21 times a week. The airline will also offer daily flights between Clark and Siargao.
Boracay will be served by 42 weekly flights between Manila and Boracay (Caticlan) and 14 weekly flights between Cebu and Boracay (Caticlan). The island of Coron will be served by seven weekly Manila–Coron (Busuanga) flights, 14 weekly Clark–Coron (Busuanga) flights, and 21 weekly Cebu–Coron (Busuanga) flights.
Flights between Manila and Antique will operate three times a week, while Manila–Catarman flights will operate four times weekly.
PAL said it would also upgrade five of its weekly Manila–Iloilo–Manila frequencies to the larger Airbus A330 aircraft from Dec. 8, 2025 to March 28, 2026.
