Luzon International Premiere Airport Development Corp. (LIPAD), the operator of Clark International Airport (CRK), has lowered its 2025 passenger traffic forecast after the government postponed the transfer of turboprop operations from Manila to Clark until March 2026.
“We were looking at 3.2 million to end this year. [But] based on the numbers that we have it’s now 3 million, which is still in terms of percentage more or less the same level of improvement from 2023 to 2024. So, we’ll be at least 20-percent higher than our 2024. We are hopeful that we still hit 3 million,” LIPAD chief executive Noel Manankil said.
LIPAD recorded 1.7 million passengers in the first half of 2025. Domestic travel accounted for 52 percent of the figure, while international travel made up 48 percent. This follows a total of 2.4 million passengers for the entire year in 2024.
Manankil attributed the reduced passenger projection for this year to two factors — the delay in transferring turboprop operations to Clark and the cessation of Jetstar Asia’s operations at the airport.
