Repower Energy Development Corp. (REDC) posts record P152.20M earnings for the first half of 2025, a 58% increase. Learn how strong clean energy generation and the upcoming Cabanglasan hydropower plant commissioning are driving growth.
Repower Energy Development Corp., the hydropower arm of Pure Energy Holdings Corp., reported record-first half earnings of P152.20 million, up 58 percent from P96.58 million in the same period last year.
REDC said in a disclosure to the stock exchange Tuesday clean energy generation jumped 29 percent to 59.77 million kilowatt-hours from 46.32 million kWh in the same period last year, lifting revenues by 28 percent to P359.61 million from P281.35 million.
“2025 is shaping up to be a banner and transformative year for REDC, proving that efficient operations and dependable hydro resources can power both the community and the company’s strong financial results” said REDC president and chief executive Eric Roxas.
It said expenses remained steady, as both cost of electricity sales and operating overhead were kept in check through tighter plant operations, high availability, proactive maintenance and procurement efficiencies.
Favorable hydro conditions and minimal natural disasters also contributed to the company’s strong first half performance.
The company strengthened operational gains in its second year of being a publicly listed firm, and remains on track for its targeted third quarter 2025 commissioning of its Cabanglasan hydropower plant in Bukidnon.
This is expected to more than double the company’s generation capacity, and further boost revenues.
REDC has eight hydropower plants with a total capacity of 17.3 megawatts.
These plants include the Tibag, Inarihan, Upper Labayat, Lower Labayat, Calibato, Majayjay, Palakpakin and Balugbog mini hydro projects.
