The deadline for proposals for the 2025 Innovation Grants has been extended to Aug. 8, 2025, giving applicants more time to finalize their submissions for funding, the Department of Economy, Planning and Development (DEPDev) said over the weekend.
The innovation grants offer funding to eligible government institutions for innovation programs, activities and projects (PAPs).
These initiatives should align with the Philippine Innovation Act (Republic Act No. 11293), the Philippine Development Plan 2023–2028, and the National Innovation Agenda and Strategy Document 2023–2032.
Eligible proponents include national government agencies (NGAs), including attached agencies, regional offices, and operating units; local government units (LGUs), including local universities and colleges (LUCs); state universities and colleges (SUCs); and government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCCs).
Qualified proposals can receive up to P7.5 million in funding for projects focusing on pre-commercialization, commercialization or diffusion of innovations; the development of innovation facilities and services; and innovation policy implementation and digital transformation.
For proposals related to innovation culture promotion and capacity-building, the maximum funding support is P5 million.
DEPDev Secretary and NIC vice chairperson Arsenio Balisacan said the extension provides more time for implementing institutions to complete and submit their proposals, which encountered delays due to inclement weather.
