Strengthening its presence in strategic global markets, the Philippines returns to INDEX Dubai, the Middle East and North Africa’s (MENA) largest design event, marking its comeback after a hiatus of four years, since its last participation in 2019.
Slated from May 27 to 29, 2025 at the Dubai World Trade Centre , the premier trade show draws thousands of international visitors, including architects, developers, interior designers, procurement professionals, and retailers.
Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) executive director Leah Pulido Ocampo, emphasized the significance of INDEX Dubai as a gateway to new global opportunities.
“We are committed to showcasing the Philippines’ design and manufacturing excellence on the world stage. With the MENA region’s growing demand fueled by diversification across industries, we believe Filipino enterprises in the home sector can play a vital role in this evolution,” Ocampo said.
Ten homegrown brands will represent the country at the event, which spotlights interior design and furniture.
The delegation, presented under the banner of DESIGNPhilippines, will carry the theme “Handcrafted for the World,” highlighting the nation’s rich tradition of craftsmanship, artistic heritage, and design-driven innovation.
CITEM, the export promotion arm of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), is spearheading the country’s participation.
To elevate the pavilion’s visual and conceptual appeal, CITEM has appointed celebrated designer and storyteller Ito Kish as creative director. Known for his namesake brand and its iconic, culturally inspired furniture, Kish will lead the product curation and visual merchandising of the Philippine pavilion, supporting exhibitors in captivating MENA buyers.
The showcased collections will feature furniture and home décor crafted primarily from sustainable materials, including rattan, wood, clay, stone, and leather, embodying the Philippines’ dedication to eco-conscious design and its distinctive brand of craftsmanship and creativity.
