WeCap Financial Inc. began its trading activities at the Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE), effective Feb. 14, 2024.
Headquartered in Makati, the boutique securities brokerage and investment advisory firm now operates under broker code 358 and short name WCAP, marking its entry as the latest trading participant in the PSE.
The launch of its trading platform follows a four-year journey that began in October 2021 when WeCap acquired the trading rights of the now-defunct BDO Nomura Securities Inc. from BDO Unibank.
The company teamed up with PSE subsidiary Premier Software Enterprise, Inc. in 2024, which now serves as its order management platform.
WeCap also secured a broker-dealer in securities license from the Securities and Exchange Commission and approval as a trading participant from the PSE.
“Our trading platform represents a key product that we offer to our clients, and our long-term goal is to launch our mobile and online trading platform that will make trading of Philippine stocks more accessible to more Filipinos, which is an objective we share with the PSE,” WeCap president Job Ambrosio said.
WeCap also provides capital raising and advisory services.
