Cebu Pacific said it dominated air travel to and from Cebu in 2024, with more than 5.6 million passengers carried or nearly half of Mactan-Cebu International Airport’s total traffic of 11.3 million.
Fueled by robust travel demand and strategic network expansion, the airline significantly increased its Cebu operations.
Flights jumped also by 34.7 percent to 4,824 in January 2025 from 3,580 in January 2024. Seat capacity surged 51.6 percent from almost 473,000 to over 717,000.
CEB said the growth aligns with its mission to provide more accessible travel options to passengers, especially those in the Central Visayas region, making it easier for passengers to connect with people, explore new places and seize opportunities across the Philippines and beyond.
“Cebu Pacific’s continued growth in Cebu reflects the strong demand for affordable and accessible air travel in Central Visayas,” said CEB president and chief commercial officer Xander Lao.
“By increasing our flights and seat capacity, we are not only connecting more passengers but also supporting tourism, trade and economic opportunities across the region,” he said.
CEB offers direct flights to 24 domestic and six international destinations from Mactan-Cebu International Airport.
The airline operates in 37 domestic and 26 international destinations spread across Asia, Australia and the Middle East. With Joel Zurbano
