PH showcases local food at Winter Fancy Food Show 2025

The Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM) recently participated in the Winter Fancy Food Show (WFFS) 2025, held from January 19 to 21, 2025, at the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA.

Sixteen Philippine MSMEs, representing the best of Filipino food under the FOODPhilippines banner, showcased their products at the event, parallel with CITEM’s strategic focus on boosting export demand for Philippine food, beverages, and ingredients.

Recognizing WFFS as a pivotal platform for expanding market reach in North America and beyond, CITEM aims to capitalize on this opportunity to introduce Filipino food to a wider audience.

The WFFS is a key food industry event that highlights current trends and consumer preferences. With the specialty food market expected to exceed $200 billion in 2024 and surpass $220 billion in 2025, the show serves as a vital platform for retailers, buyers, and service providers to connect and explore new opportunities.

According to the Specialty Food Association (SFA), key food trends for 2025 include a strong emphasis on functional, real, and natural foods, alongside a growing demand for authentic and distinct global flavors that are convenient to use.

Philippine food perfectly aligns with these trends. Exhibitors at the Philippine Pavilion showcased a diverse range of products featuring homegrown and natural ingredients, many of which are traditional and reflective of the country’s rich culinary heritage.

Offering a compelling value proposition through sustainable sourcing practices and extended shelf life, showcased products include premium baked goods, vegetable-based snacks, and convenient instant or ready-to-eat mixes, catering to the evolving tastes of consumers and the needs of both home cooks and food establishments.
