Local boutique airline Sunlight Air announced the acquisition of an ATR 72-600, a modern aircraft renowned for its efficiency and sustainability.
The new addition complements the company’s three ATR 72-500s by offering enhanced performance tailored for short-haul regional flights.
With a seating capacity of up to 68 passengers and low carbon emissions, the ATR 72-600 underscores the airline’s commitment to eco-friendly operations and passenger comfort.
The strategic acquisition also marks a significant step in Sunlight Air’s plan to optimize operations and expand its route network in 2025.
By increasing flight frequencies and exploring new destinations, the airline aims to solidify its reputation as a trusted choice for regional travel.
“As we enter the new year, we find that there are more growth opportunities that come with the continuous increase of passenger demands. Sunlight Air is on a constant mission to upgrade flight frequency and efficiency as a top domestic carrier in the Philippines. This is only the beginning of an exciting year and we look forward to sharing more that we have in store toward continued efficient, sustainable, and customer-focused services,” said Sunlight Air chief executive Ryna Brito-Garcia.
Sunlight Air flies from Clark, Cebu and Manila to various destinations in the Philippines such as Boracay, Coron (Busuanga), Siargao and Cagayan de Oro. Travelers may also book accommodations with Sunlight Air’s partner hotels and resorts.
