Gokongwei steps down as CEO of Robinsons Land to become chair

Property developer Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) named Maria Socorro Isabelle Aragon-GoBio as its new president and chief executive effective Feb. 1, 2025.

Lance Gokongwei, the president and CEO of RLC, will step down from his posts which he held since Jan. 8, 2020, according to a company announcement Monday.

Gokongwei will continue as executive chairman and will help guide the company with his strategic advice.

The RLC board thanked Gokongwei for his strong leadership and valuable work as president and CEO. Under his leadership, RLC became a leader in the real estate industry.

The RLC board also welcomed Aragon-GoBio as the new president and CEO.

“Ms. Aragon-GoBio brings a lot of experience, deep knowledge of the industry, and a clear vision for the future. She will lead Robinsons Land Corp. into a new phase of growth and innovation. Her focus on excellence, customer needs, flexibility and sustainability will help RLC stay ahead in the market and create long-term value for everyone,” the company said.

Aragon-GoBio will be the first woman to serve as president and CEO at RLC, reflecting the company’s focus on supporting diversity and developing local talent.

Aragon-GoBio has over 30 years of experience in real estate. She joined RLC in 1993 and has held important leadership roles in logistics, residential projects, office buildings and mixed-use developments. Her vision and creativity have helped the company grow and diversify.

Before this new role, she was president and CEO of Robinsons Logistix and Industrials Inc., where she built the logistics division, making it a key part of RLC’s business.

As senior vice president of Robinsons Destination Estates, she led important projects like Bridgetowne, Sierra Valley and Montclair.

Earlier in her career, Aragon-GoBio helped set up RLC’s high-rise building division, launched successful residential brands, worked on partnerships with local and global companies and led government joint projects.

She earned her degree in Management Engineering from Ateneo de Manila University in 1993 and studied International Business at the University of Antwerp.
