PH plays major role in Wells Fargo’s global operations, customer service

The Philippines plays an important role in supporting the global operations of Wells Fargo, one of the largest banks in the United States.

Wells Fargo Philippines country head Mike Whyte made this statement as the company marks its 13th year in the country.

“Wells Fargo Philippines plays a vital role in supporting the global operations of the bank by providing technological, operational and back-office services,” Whyte said in an email interview. “With the Philippines and India region as a key hub, we’ve been able to drive efficiencies and foster innovation across the enterprise.”

Whyte, a seasoned operations leader, has held various roles in the financial services industry. He moved to the Philippines in 2018 to help grow American Express International Inc.’s servicing footprint.

As country head of Wells Fargo in the Philippines, Whyte works closely with the I&P region leadership team and global leadership to execute strategy across businesses.

Wells Fargo International Solutions LLC – Philippines is a critical component of Wells Fargo Bank N.A.’s strategy to leverage distinct advantages in doing business globally. It provides operational, functional and technical expertise to support Wells Fargo’s operations, knowledge services and corporate support teams.

“Our primary focus for the future remains two-fold: to continue driving operational excellence and to enhance the customer experience by leveraging technology and innovation,” Whyte said. “Moreover, we’re committed to further investing in our people.”
