Clark locators back Prime Waste’s innovative waste processing services

Prime Waste Solutions (PWS) Pampanga said it earned praise from businesses in Clark Freeport, Pampanga for its innovative waste management services and commitment to environmental responsibility.

PWS Pampanga began its commercial operations within the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone on Oct. 6 as the sole authorized service provider for the collection of residual waste in Clark.

Environmental engineer Daniel Navarro of POSCO Eco & Challenge Co. Ltd. said the goal of PWS Pampanga is aligned with their company’s program on pollution prevention, which includes efficient material use.

“Here in our project, we have not yet perfected waste segregation, so we became interested in Prime [Waste] because they have sufficient machines and automated segregation,” Navarro said, adding that they were impressed with the facility during their prior due diligence visit.

PWS Pampanga’s facility in Porac is designed to handle up to 5,000 tons of solid waste daily, employing advanced technology to maximize resource recovery and aiming to reduce landfilled waste by 20 percent or less.

“The waste that is recovered upon segregation has a proper place to go, like they turn it into RDF or refuse derived fuels…so the waste can still be used,” Navarro said.

PWS’s practices not only boost operational efficiency but also promote a sense of pride in environmental responsibility.

“Since Prime Waste will take care of our waste, we are happy because we are helping the environment because they have proper segregation of waste to throw away,” said environmental officer Allan Pedroso of Hilmarc’s Construction Corp.
