TaskUs, a provider of outsourced digital services and next-generation customer experience to fast-growing technology companies, today announced that it joins 484 other companies as a member of the 2023 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI), a modified market capitalization-weighted index developed to gauge the performance of public companies dedicated to reporting gender-related data.

This reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: leadership & talent pipeline, equal pay & gender pay parity, inclusive culture, anti-sexual harassment policies, and external brand.

“TaskUs is committed to building a diverse, equitable, and inclusive space for our talent coming from all ages, genders, and racial backgrounds. We have strong anti-discrimination policies as part of our Global Code of Conduct; focusing on providing equitable benefits; and arranging cultural sessions and providing resources to educate and discuss Diversity, Equity, and Inclusivity (DEI) issues, among many others,” said TaskUs senior director for global diversity & inclusion Ana Marfil.

“It is a continuous effort and commitment, so we are excited to be working closely with the other members of the Bloomberg GEI to help create more inclusive workplaces that equally talented and skilled people across the world deserve,” she added.

The 2023 GEI represents 45 countries and regions, including firms headquartered in Luxembourg, Ecuador, and Kuwait for the first time. Member companies represent a variety of sectors, including financials, technology, and utilities, which continue to have the highest company representation in the index from 2022.

Bloomberg chairman and founding chairman of the U.S. 30% Club Peter T. Grauer congratulated the companies that are included in the 2023 GEI.

“We continue to see an increase in both interest and membership globally, reflecting a shared goal of transparency in gender-related metrics,” he said.

TaskUs submitted a social survey created by Bloomberg, in collaboration with global experts. Those included on this year’s index scored within or above a global threshold established by Bloomberg to reflect disclosure and the achievement of best-in-class statistics and policies.

Both the survey and the GEI are voluntary and have no associated costs. While Bloomberg collected the data for reference purposes only, the index is not ranked. All public companies are encouraged to disclose supplemental gender data for their company’s investment profile on the Bloomberg Terminal and those with market capitalization of $1 billion are eligible for inclusion in the Index.
