TTG Asia, a regional travel trade publication, recognized the Philippines as the Destination of the Year in 2022 during the awarding ceremony held on Sept. 22 in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Tourism Promotions Board Philippines received the award on behalf of the country. TTG designated the Philippines as the most outstanding destination for taking proactive steps and initiatives for the development and promotion of the travel industry.
“Being awarded as TTG’s Destination of the Year is a welcome validation of our collective efforts to rebuild the Philippine tourism industry. We share this recognition with gratitude to all our tourism partners, stakeholders, and Filipinos who have been instrumental in helping us promote our country’s attractions, products, and culture both here and abroad,” said TPB officer-in-charge Charles Aames Bautista.
The Philippines previously received the coveted Destination of the Year award in 2014 and the Best Marketing and Relationship Effort award in the following year. The prestigious TTG Travel Awards was held annually since 1989.
