MPCALA expects 10% rise in CALAX traffic

MPCALA Holdings Inc. (MHI) expects vehicle traffic in Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX) to increase by 10 percent this holiday season.

Given the anticipated increase in vehicle traffic, the toll road operator placed CALAX’s operation on heightened alert status to guarantee safe, secure, reliable and convenient toll passages for travelers during the holiday rush.

CALAX is a 45-kilometer high-speed road network connecting the two provinces of Cavite and Laguna, targeting to serve around 45,000 motorists upon its completion.

CALAX operates from Biñan, Laguna up to the east of Silang, Cavite. It serves about 18,000 vehicles on weekdays and a high of 32,000 on the weekends at the start of December.

“The holiday season has been anticipated to increase mobility of our motoring public, more so with government loosening travel restrictions.,” said Roberto Bontia, president and general manager of MPCALA, said.
