Japan to promote other tourism sites

Japan Association of Travel Agents, Japan’s biggest travel group, agreed to promote new Philippine destinations after the successful introduction of Cebu, the Tourism Department said Friday.

JATA members are expected to meet in the next few days to study the Philippine proposal to keep a strong presence in the Japanese market. The Philippines offered new and emerging destinations such as Bohol, Laoag, Siargao, Iloilo, Palawan, Clark, and Davao. 

“With JATA’s renewed commitment to promote the Philippine Tourism Department, we could only anticipate the Japanese market to rise to number one in generating inbound tourists,”  said Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo.
