The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines imposed a ban on the carriage of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices in airport premises, on board the aircraft and as cargo shipment.

“All carriage of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 devices are forbidden in airport premises, on-board the aircraft and cargo flights,” CAAP acting director general Jim Sybiongco said in memorandum circular issued on Oct. 13.

Philippine Airlines also issued an advisory against carrying or using Samsung Note 7 on its flights.

“If a passenger is in possession of a Samsung Note 7 prior to boarding an aircraft, the airline will deny boarding until the device is removed his/her person,carry-on or checked baggage,” PAL said.

“Passengers currently traveling with Samsung Galaxy Note 7  phones should contact Samsung or their wireless carrier immediately to obtain information on how to return their phones and arrange for a refund or a replacement device,” the airline said.
