State-owned PNOC Exploration Corp. is optimistic of business opportunities with Iran following the recent visit of the Iranian Ambassador to the Philippines.
Iranian Ambassador Mohammad Tanhaei recently made a courtesy call to PNOC Exploration president Pedro Aquino.
Aquino expressed optimism Tanhaei’s visit would result in a fruitful working relation with Iran.
“No agreement. The Iranian ambassador only made a visit to my office. The agreement, if any, will be in Iran with either National Iranian Oil Co. or National Iranian Gas Co.,” Aquino said.
Tanhaei expressed interest to work with PNOC Exploration and discussed a wide array of possible areas of cooperation, such as oil exploration, production and other fields in the energy sector, including petroleum product trade.
The ambassador, according to PNOC Exploration, was optimistic about the trade relations between the Philippines and Iran as a result of the lifting of the US-led embrago.
