MWC to start desludging

Manila Water Company Inc.  said it will start desludging of septic tanks as a part of providing proper sanitation to more than 6.3 million customers in the east zone concession area in Metro Manila.

Manila Water said it would begin cleaning various septic tanks of the villages of Quezon City, Marikina, Rizal, Pasig, Makati, San Juan, Taguig and Pateros.

“Desludging of septic tanks should be done regularly every five years,” said Manila Water east zone business operations group director Ferdinand dela Cruz.

Dela Cruz said the barangays scheduled for desludging in January included Escopa 2, 3 and 4, Loyola Heights, Capitol Homes, Sitio Payong, Vista Real and Tierra Pura, all in Quezon City.

Manila Water will also include Barangay Socorro and San Juan of Cubao, Quezon City; Barangay San Perfecto in San Juan; Barangay Malanday in Marikina City; Barangay Buting, Kalawaan, Pineda, Caniogan, Rosario and Santolan in Pasig City; Barangay Fort Bonifacio in Makati and Barangay Bagong Silang in Mandaluyong.  Also scheduled for desludging are several barangays in the province of Rizal.
