SAN FERNANDO City—Pampanga’s Best Inc. was named champion in the search for “Healthy Workplace,” besting several industrial firms here, including beverage giants Coca-Cola and San Miguel Corp.
San Fernando councilor Angie Hizon received the award on behalf of Pampanga’s Best during simple rites held at the Heroes Hall.
The annual competition serves as a venue in promoting safety and workers-friendly environment, not only for big industrial plants but also for other business establishments located in the progressive city, which is known as the center of commerce and trade in Central Luzon.
San Fernando Mayor Edwin Santiago said in a statement the award was in recognition to PBI’s commitment in establishing social and environmental awareness deemed helpful to sustain a healthy community. Pampanga’s Best, founded by Lolita and Angelo Hizon Jr., manufactures tocino, hotdogs, longaniza, ham, bacon, tapa, burger patties, corned beef, embotido, barbecue and chicken nuggets.
