The Filipino Chinese Amateur Athletic Federation (FCAAF) concluded its 2025 national games with a grand closing and awarding ceremony in Pasig City on April 6, 2025.
More than 1,000 athletes and coaches from 26 Chinese schools across the Philippines participated in the event.
FCAAF president Natalie Sia said the event served not only as a venue for athletic competition but also as a platform for cultural and sports exchange among Filipino-Chinese communities.
She said FCAAF aims to hold the national games biennially to further align with national-level sporting events and increase opportunities for young athletes.
Counselor and consul general Wang Yue of the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines encouraged participants to strive for excellence, while Philippine Sports Commission Commissioner Matthew Gaston expressed hope that FCAAF would help train future national athletes.
Founding chairman Jimmy Chan Cuan lauded the achievements of this year’s games and expressed confidence in the organization’s future.
Federation of Filipino Chinese Chambers of Commerce & Industry Inc. (FFCCCII) president Victor Lim also attended and delivered a message of support.
Plaques of appreciation were awarded to all 26 schools, and special recognition was given to outstanding Filipino-Chinese athletes.
Among them were Amparo “Weena” Lim, a 2006 Olympic badminton player; Roxanne Ashley Yu-Sia, a Southeast Asian Games swimming champion; Keith Rhynne Cruz, a junior and current Philippine table tennis champion; Agatha Wong, a SEA Games gold medalist and World Cup wushu runner-up; and Ernest John Uy Obiena, an Olympic pole vault fourth placer. Obiena addressed the athletes, encouraging them to work hard and aim to represent the country. He also expressed gratitude to FCAAF for its continued support of his athletic career.
The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to winners in various sports categories, officially closing the 2025 FCAAF national games.
