The 1st Marine Brigade of Northern Maguindanao visited the Chinese Filipino Business Club Inc. (CFBCI) head office on October 16, 2024 to fetch the 200 five-gallon containers of drinking water aimed at benefiting coastal barangays in Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao del Norte.
The turnover ceremony was led by CFBCI president Samuel Lee Uy, honorary president Johnny Lee and vice president Henry Lo Lim.
The brigade was represented by Captain Jayne Anne Din, MSgt. Christopher Morales, Cpl. Sammy Bacoog and Cpl. Geraldine Advincula.
Datu Odin Sinsuat has many coastal communities, which face significant challenges in accessing clean drinking water especially in remote locations.
The CFBCI and the Philippine Marines are working together to address the pressing need for clean water.
The durable five-gallon containers are designed for reuse, allowing residents to safely store water without leaks.
After the turnover, participants discussed potential future projects to further support the community.
As a token of appreciation, the Marines presented jars of banana chips and coffee, produced by local women who have transitioned to food production as a livelihood.
CFBCI gifted the Marine officers its commemorative coffee table book to celebrate their joint commitment to service.
