The Amity Club Tacloban Chapter, led by president Cai Chang Yu, introduced its 2024-2026 board of directors at the Leyte Progressive High School Gymnasium on Sept. 8, 2024.
Chen Hong Xiang was elected the new president of the chapter. The ceremony was attended by a 12-member delegation from the Amity Club head office and around 100 delegates from other Amity Club chapters.
The Amity Club head office and the Tacloban Chapter donated medical equipment to Tacloban City Hospital.
The donation included 10 hospital beds, 10 armchairs, 30 folding beds, two multifunctional cribs, one rescue stretcher, two portable suction machines and two pulse oximeters.
Tacloban City Mayor Alfred Romualdez, hospital president Ben Go and the hospital staff received the said donation.
Romualdez praised the donation, recalled his past experiences with the Tacloban Amity Club Chapter and highlighted the long-standing friendship between the Philippines and China.
He urged more communication and reciprocal activities between the two countries at both governmental and civil levels.
Go also expressed gratitude for the support, which he said would greatly benefit the hospital and its patients.
Romualdez presented certificates of appreciation to the Amity Club head office and the Tacloban Chapter in recognition of their contribution.
