During the launch, the actress and mother talked about the daily beauty routine that helps her stay healthy and glowing and discussed why it’s important for moms like herself to look and feel beautiful, and practice self-love, in general.

Despite embracing her beauty, Max opened up on being the receiving end of body-shaming and industry stereotypes.

“When you’re mestiza, you’re only for contravida roles. I always got that. That’s why there were times that I wished I was morena,” she admitted.

“I was fat as a kid. I grew up with weight problem. I try to lose weight for my health. I exercise regularly. I eat healthy because it’s important for me to feel good,” she added.

The 29-year-old actress continued talking about dealing with trolls on social media who scrutinize her looks.

“After I lost weight, after giving birth, people were body-shaming me in a way like they were saying ‘kapapanganak mo pa lang tapos bigla kang pumayat,’ ‘ ano ang pinaglalaban mo.’ It’s like they were making it a bad thing because they say I was so narcissistic about being skinny so fast. I just want to clarify that’s not what I am doing it. I just want to take care of myself because it makes me feel good. And of course, it makes me a good mom for my son,” she added.

These days, Max focuses on embracing the skin she is in and making sure she takes care of it. She also prioritizes taking care of her body.

“If we don’t feel beautiful then we can’t give love that we don’t have for ourselves. So, the more that we love ourselves, the more that we respect ourselves, the more that we will be able to treat our family with respect and take care of our kids well,” she ended.
