The coming episode of the Philippine Sports Commission’s web series Rise Up, Shape Up is set to highlight the Metro Manila entries of the Zumbarangay Pilipinas: Solo Exercise on Cam Challenge this Saturday.
The Zumbarangay Pilipinas panel of judges will select qualifying entries based on forms and style, movement, vigor and energy, and Philippine cultural and artistry value.
First judge will be Stephanie Sabalo, a multi-medalist dance sport athlete, who won two golds and one silver in the 19th Southeast Games, joined by Chips Beltran, best known as the Coach and Director of the 2017 and 2016 back to back World Hip-Hop International Champions in USA, UPeepz.
Coach Lenlen Ruiz will also be in the panel. She served as the head coach of the aerobic gymnastics Philippine team, and coached the 2003 and 2005 SEAG editions.
Professor Michiko Aseron, a dance faculty from the University of the Philippines Diliman-College of Human Kinetics, and American Council on Exercise Certified Fitness Instructor Bam Mogato will complete the panel.
The episode will also feature the voices of “Igalaw-galaw ating Katawan” sisters Jamaila, Jayca, and Jawyna Ramos from Mindanao.
“We are committed to encouraging young girls and women to be healthy, athletic and competitive as we chose young girls to sing PSC’s official dance exercise music. We hope that their presence and contribution to this PSC milestone will continue to inspire and empower young girls and women to maximize their potential, whether in sports or other activities,” said PSC Commissioner Celia Kiram.
The Zumbarangay campaign received entries from the barangay level across its four categories. Qualified barangay entries will move on to the city/town level.
PSC’s Rise Up, Shape Up is a web series streamed via Facebook and YouTube every Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m.
