The Board of Investments and British lifestyle consumer appliance manufacturer Dyson Ltd. are in talks over the the firm’s plan to expand its research and development office in the Philippines after five full years of sales growth.
BOI managing head and Trade undersecretary Ceferino Rodolfo said the company had made known its interest to put up a software and R&D center in the Philippines
“Just last year, even at the height of the pandemic, they announced their expansion into software with plans to further strengthen research and development from the Philippines. We are now in discussion for a full blown R&D center here in the Philippines,” he said Wednesday during a virtual business forum between the Philippines and Switzerland.
Dyson Electronics Pte. Ltd. Philippines, a unit of Dyson Ltd., exports Dyson vacuum cleaners to Switzerland. Dyson vacuum cleaner is the top export of the Philippines to Switzerland, Rodolfo said.
The Philippines, he added, is the biggest production base of Dyson.
