Jericho Cruz put up a stellar performance as he bolstered Guam to a 103-83 blowout victory against Hong Kong in the third window of the 2021 FIBA Asia Cup Qualifiers in Amman, Jordan.
The NLEX Road Warriors' guard erupted for 24 points and had seven assists, along with four rebounds and three steals while shooting 52.6% from the field. He also shot 5 of 8 from deep in nearly 30 minutes.
Cruz caught fire early as he scored 14 points in the opening quarter to lead Guam into a 16-point advantage, 35-19. They were never threatened from there as Guam led by as many as 25 points.
Tai Wesley led Guam with a near triple-double of 25 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists, while Curtis Washington, a former PBA import for the Road Warriors, tallied 16 points and six boards.
Guam improved to 1-1 in Group C after suffering from a 113-94 defeat at the hands of New Zealand in February 2020.
Guam and Hong Kong play again on Tuesday, June 15.
