Bambang, Nueva Vizcaya—Provincial officials here have marked the start of the more than P88.1 million main building and charity ward for the Nueva Vizcaya Provincial Hospital (NVPH) in barangay Almaguer North here.
The construction of the four-storey main building will be funded through the provincial government’s 2018 and 2019 Development Fund.
Governor Carlos Padilla said the health facility project was supposed to be constructed earlier this year if not for the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This will benefit our poor constituents who had been longing for an additional pro-poor hospital facility,” he said.
Padilla, along with the members of the provincial board and other officials of the provincial government led the groundbreaking program for the project at the NVPH.
For his part, Bambang Mayor Pepito Balgos said the local government unit is grateful for hosting the NVPH and its upcoming development projects.
He said the NVPH’s continuing development and improvement of its facilities and services will further benefit the villagers of Bambang, especially the poor.
The provincial government saved at least P1 million of the actual cost of the project, the governor also added.
