Manila City Mayor Francisco “Isko” Domagoso on Saturday led the official launching of the newly renovated vending stalls along Ylaya Street in the city’s commercial district.
Domagoso joined City Engineer Armand Andres, City Electrician Engr. Randy Sadac, and other local officials during the ribbon cutting ceremony.
A total of 100 vending stalls with a variety of products are being offered along the stretch of Ylaya in Divisoria, Manila.
Vendors would only pay P40 per day to the city government for their new stalls—P20 in the morning, and P20 in the afternoon.
This, Domagoso said, would end the issue on organizers extorting a higher amount against vendors.
The placing of 100 Ylaya Vending Stalls aims to help vendors to have a higher dignity for themselves. It is part of the local government’s Build Build Manila program.
