JRRMC limits emergency room operations from August 19-26

Emergency room operations of the Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center (JRRMMC) will be limited for a week in order to give way to the disinfection of the complex amid the rising cases of COVID-19 patients.

The Manila-based hospital will be on limited operations from August 19 to 26.

“Please be advised that starting August 19, 2020 (Wednesday) to August 26,2020 (Wednesday), the Emergency Service Complex of Jose R. Reyes Memorial Medical Center will be closed temporarily to facilitate decontamination/disinfection of the whole complex pursuant to Hospital Memorandum dated August 13,2020. Only extreme emergency cases will be accepted," the hospital said in a statement posted on Facebook.

“In this regard, all dialysis patients needing emergency care are advised to make use of our online platform for further assistance and care management. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your understanding,” the statement read.

Non-COVID-19 patients who are currently admitted at JRRMMC will be temporarily transferred to the Tondo Medical Center or to another facility near the patient’s home.

COVID-19 patients in the emergency room will also be transferred to the Jose Rodriguez Medical Center in Caloocan.

The Philippines has recorded over 161,000 COVID-19 cases as of Sunday afternoon.
